Stay at Home Order by Governor Whitmer

ATTN: SEIU 517M Members

The Governor has issued a “Stay at Home” order effective at midnight on 3/23/2020. The order is intended to stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensure the health and safety of all Michiganders. More detail along with the Executive Order itself can be found below but essentially this order is broad sweeping with a few exceptions (1) outdoor activities; (2) care for another individual; (3) personal healthcare reasons; (4) travel for supplies; (5) if you’re categorized as a critical infrastructure employee at an essential business; or (6) if you’re doing minimal work at a business for basic, needed operations (payroll etc).

This critical and needed order, will take effect at midnight tonight and will last until at least April 13. SEIU 517M sent a letter to the Governor last week imploring her to take aggressive, bold action to stop the spread of coronavirus and we will continue to lift up the voices and concerns of all of our members.
