Push For More Funding for Worker Safety Programs

March 25, 2008

In Michigan, the state is allowed to handle workplace safety issues under the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Agency (MIOSHA) a State-run version of the Federal OSHA program.  The State receives funding to operate this program from the Federal government.  Funding for the state-run programs have not been keeping up with inflation and has been declining as the Federal OSHA budget has increased.  Please contact your Congressional Representative and Senator to urge them to increase funding for this valuable program.
