Buena Vista Members Ratify Hard Fought Contract

After almost two years of hard bargaining, a new district superintendent, and the successful campaign to getting our own SEIU member elected to the Buena Vista School Board, the Buena Vista Schools Support Group have finally ratified a three year agreement with the school district. The contract includes a retroactive pay increases back to July of 2006 and July of 2007 with another increase in July of 2008. This group protected their health care benefit that is fully paid by the district with a $5 and $10 co-pay for prescriptions. Glenda Simon and Fredia Wickes really demonstrated their leadership and skills with this hard contract campaign. Congratulations to Glenda, Fredia, and the bargaining team

The Custodial - Maintenance members at Buena Vista schools ratified a two year agreement in February of this year.
