Buena Vista Township Members Ratify New Contract

On April 3rd the Buena Vista Charter Township members ratified 15 to 1 a three year agreement with management. The new contract includes a wage increase over the three years of the agreement. The members also secured a signing bonus. Very similar to most bargaining tables in these hard economic times, the members had to fight to keep a health care plan that was fully paid by the employer. The bargaining committee secured and delivered this to the membership. This was member Caroline Reed's first time chairing the negotiations and she did an outstanding job in six bargaining sessions and one state mediation session. Congratulations and a sincere thank you goes out to bargaining committee members Paulette Jackson, Caroline Reed and Darliane Blackmon for all the hard work put into this contract campaign.
