Member Honored for Her Service

December 16, 2008

On December 12, 2008 a retirement luncheon was held for City of Detroit employee Velinda Lewis. She was honored with the Spirit of Detroit award and pin on behalf of Detroit City Council member Kwame Kenyatta. She also received a plaque from Local 517M honoring her years of service to the union. The former Detroit DPW unit president was given her awards by current unit president and 517M Executive Board member Yolanda Langston. Congratulations to Velinda and enjoy your retirement!
