Letter from Unit President Jackie Adams in support of the recently negotiated Tentative Agreement:

Dear SEIU Local 517M HSS Division Member:

The information enclosed is an overview of the Tentative Agreement which was reached between the SEIU Local 517M HSS Division Bargaining Unit and the State of Michigan effective January 1, 2008 - December 31, 2010.  lf you have any questions on any of the information, please feel free to contact one of the Bargaining T eam members.

This Tentative Agreement is a product of many, many long hours and weeks of negotiations to protect the wages, benefits and terms and conditions of employment for our members.  The process was made extremely difficult by the fact that the State is facing its own challenges with the projected budget deficiencies.

The Bargaining Team unanimously agreed that this Tentative Agreement represents the fairest and most equitable settlement and strongly recommends ratification.  We encourage each of our members to cast their vote in favor of this
Agreement.
