Non-economic Changes
The following represents changes bargained for during negotiations and are being presented to you in this format for informational purposes. The exact language will be provided to you at a later date. (Most of these changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2008.) Click on the individual article links to view a PDF of the actual language that was agreed to.

Article 9- GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
New language pertaining to arbitrations. Allows for an “expedited”process for termination grievances.

Article 12 - SENIORITY
New language giving limited seniority rights to probationary employees
 
Article 13 - LAYOFF, REDUCTION OF HOURS, and RECALL
Changed process for ties in seniority deleting any reference to employee social security numbers. 

Article 14 - HEALTH & SAFETY
New language pertaining to when the employer requires Mental health evaluations. 

Article 17 - HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME
“Sick” leave will no longer be used in the calculation of overtime. 

Article 18 - LEAVE OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY
New language pertaining to FMLA leave and incorporation of Disaster Response leave LOU 

Article 24 - COMPENSATION

Article 25 - LEAVE & HOLIDAYS
New language pertaining to supervisor’s approval of annual leave requests.

Article 26 - GROUP INSURANCES

Article 27- MISC. BENEFITS & EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT
New language establishing a Technical Unit tuition reimbursement fund of $50,000.00. PET, MET& Parking LOU placed into this article.

No substantive changes in the Appendixes except with Appendix D pertaining to the definition of layoff units in the Department of Comm. Health and Natural Resources.
